Workshop: Rap
During a Rap workshop, every participant finds a positive outlet
for their feelings and ideas. Like a true wordsmith, we write a
powerful text based on various rhyming exercises.
Then it's time to sharpen our hearing. We listen to the beat, hear
the melody and experiment with how we can fit our lyrics into
it.
At the end of the workshop we show our rap skills to each other
during a short performance.
Fun fact: a rapper is also called an MC (Master of Ceromonies).
Depending on the availability of our teachers and the age of the children, we can also work in English or French. An innovative way to learn another language!
Writing and performing a Rap text is a very accessible way for children and young people to reflect on Global Citizenship. They start thinking about a theme within Global Citizenship and find an outlet for their opinions and feelings.
