STEM tools for the very young

With STEM tools, the project team of Odisee University of Applied Sciences wants to prepare pre-schoolers in typical Flemish classes with a high diversity for independent design and/or research through a diversity of STEM activities involving fine motor skills. The aim is that they can work independently while performing STEM activities.

Through practice-oriented research, the aim is to design a diversity of effective and feasible STEM activities with attention to both fine motor skills and cognitive insights. This can be translated into thinking and language stimulating STEM activities, which also take fine motor tips into account.
