On this site you can enter, manage and share natural experiences with others. It is an initiative of Natuurpuntstudie vzw and the Nature Information Foundation. In this way, the site wants to provide insight into the natural environment of Flanders.
You can enter your observations into four categories: birds, mammals, amphibians and reptiles, butterflies. Everything happens on a voluntary basis. You can also lose your photos.
The advantage is that the information is very up-to-date. Would you like to see seals on our Belgian coast? Surf to Observaties.be, view the last sighting and you will immediately get a precise location (Google maps), description and possibly additional information.
Users of observations.be who own a PDA with GPS or a touchscreen GSM with GPS and equipped with Windows Mobile can enter data into the field using the Wnpda program. The position of your observation will be saved immediately, and at home you can upload your data to your profile on observations.be
