Ramadan and fasting

When do we act well? Do we have to prescribe something? There are different opinions about this within Christianity and Islam.

Within Islam, fasting during the month of Ramadan is mandatory. Then it is forbidden to eat, drink or have sex when the sun is out. Then Muslims can make up the damage.

Christianity is also fasted, but according to Jesus Christ himself that is not an obligation. It is something between you and God, others have nothing to do with it. In the Roman Catholic tradition, the period between Carnival and Easter is also a period in which to moderate. The compulsory nature has disappeared, especially in our time. Now, the forty-day period is often used to lose weight to save on food and drink in order to save a little more for those who have little.
