Headwind, Poverty in Belgium since 1800: Experts by experience

One Belgian in seven lives in poverty. That is living against the wind. The raw reality penetrates every crevice of life at times. Poverty is always present, never completely absent. It touches on big and small matters and is often invisible - especially to the outside world. Society is bored with the figure. How to turn the lives of people in poverty? How to put them out of the wind? Many answers are possible. Choices are imperative.

Eight experts by experience in poverty visited museums and archives in Flanders and Brussels in 2017 and discovered historical heritage about poverty. Based on this, they tell their own story . In the introduction film they give their 'definitions' of poverty. Not only a lack of money or material shortage, but also intangible matters, such as feelings of exclusion, determine what poverty means to them. Moreover, poverty affects all areas of life.
