Bad News: Disinformation Game

In Bad News you take on the role of a fake news maker. You may drop all pretense of ethics and instead follow the path of a true media mogul without conscience. Keep an eye on your followers and credibility meters. It's up to you to get as many followers as possible while taking your credibility to the next level. But be careful: you will lose if you tell blatant lies or disappoint your supporters!

The aim of the game is to expose the manipulation techniques often used to deceive people. Bad News works like a psychological vaccine against disinformation: by playing it you build up cognitive resistance to known forms of manipulation that you can encounter online.

The game was developed in collaboration with Cambridge University.
