Save the eel: Serious game
Together with Scriptie vzw I have developed a game, 'Save the eel', to bring the problems that migrating eels encounter on their journey to the sea closer to the general public. Dive underwater to guide Angie the eel through rivers unscathed so she can breed in the Sargasso Sea about 7,000 km west of Europe. Along the way you will learn a lot about the eel and the obstacles it has to overcome. Did you know, for example, that eels complete the 7,000 km journey without eating and rely entirely on their fat reserves?
The game was supported by Ghent University, LifeWatch, the Institute for Nature and Forest Research and the Flemish Marine Institute. Development was handled by Slappy.inc.
