The honeybee: Exhibition in The world of Kina, the Garden

In The World of Kina: the Garden, the Ghent nature museum for children and young people, one of the museum rooms is completely dedicated to the hard worker, the honey bee.

Honey bees are our smallest pets. On warm, sunny days they fly tirelessly from flower to flower. What are they looking for there? In this room you will learn a lot about the honey bee:

  • What is a nut cap?
  • How do honey bees sting?
  • How does a bee make honey?

You will also find extensive information about the bee state, metamorphosis, the language of
the bees and the history of beekeeping.

In the summer (and when conditions are good) you can see a living bee colony behind glass. Who will find the queen first?
