Basic course in mathematics

This basic course consists of twelve lesson packages:

  • Plane figures and geometric solids (measures of length, area, dimensions of space, measures of mass and volume, circumference and area of plane figures, surface and volume of geometric solids);
  • Natural and decimal numbers (main operations, properties of equalities and inequalities, properties of divisibility, greatest common divisor, least common multiple);
  • Fractions and their applications (simplification, homonymization, main operations, problems);
  • Issues (solving different types of issues, the rule of three, percentage calculation, purchase and sale, loss and profit, interest and discount);
  • Algebraic numbers (main operations);
  • Equations and problems (equation of the first degree in one unknown, mononomial, polynomial);
  • Mononomials and polynomials (reducing, arranging, addition and subtraction);
  • Operations with polynomials (multiplication, division, remarkable products, remainder determination, features of divisibility);
  • Factorization (twoterms, threeterms and fourterms);
  • Systems of equations and quadratic equations (inequalities in one unknown, systems of two equations in two unknowns, equations of the second degree in one unknown, problems);
  • Polynomial fractions, radicals and extension of the exponent concept (properties and operations, powers with negative and fractional exponents);
  • Number series and proportional division (arithmetic and geometric series, directly and inversely proportional, general review lesson).

In each lesson the theory is clarified with detailed examples. Auto-control exercises (ACOs) are included after each course unit.
