Book chatter and scribble: Literature assignment
In a book chat, students tell each other which book they have read and what they thought of it. They do this in the FlipGrid app. Nice and handy, because you collect all videos at a glance. Ideal for peer evaluation of speaking.
Pupils also crawl into their pen: a book scribble. They choose between two processing jobs: create an advertising brochure of their book that has been read in Canva or write a letter to the main character in their book.
There are help cards to offer:
- list of speaking adjectives;
- a link to Canva's tutorial;
- an example advertising brochure template for those who find it difficult to start from scratch.
