Sandwich technique: Speaking command
In the sandwich technique, the negative message is packed between positive messages. This way you share the bad news with the recipient, but it doesn't affect your relationship.
In the assignment, the students are given two choices: a telephone conversation (MP4, so with image) or a Teams meeting. They are already given two given situations, but can possibly choose a third. For those situations, they first write a draft in which they communicate the bad news using the sandwich technique.
On the back there is a rubric that you can use when evaluating the assignment.
