Bacongo Limburg: Educational package at the expo

This educational package is part of the (digital) exhibition Bacongo Limburg, an initiative of Het Stadsmus (Hasselt).

The package allows students to discover the Belgian-Congolese past in a balanced and polyphonic way, with attention to the colonizer and the colonized and brings a piece of current history to life in your class. You do this on the basis of a preparatory lesson folder, a virtual expo, a digital visit to the Bacongo Limburg expo, a report assignment and a debate.

The preparatory lesson folder guides the teacher through Belgian colonial history in order to brush up on their own prior knowledge or to introduce the theme in the class. In the report assignment, your students will work creatively with the expo material and make audiovisual reports about the main themes from the expo. After the students have completed their reports, all the videos are shown to the class in a post-processing lesson and debated in class.
