European reference framework for teachers' digital competences

In December 2017, the Joint Research Center of the European Commission launched the DigCompEdu framework. In the framework they propose 24 competencies that the teacher should meet in the field of ICT & Learning.

The DigCompEdu framework consists of six areas of competence:

  1. Professional involvement: using technology to support one's own professionalization.
  2. Digital resources: handling and utilizing digital content for learning and teaching.
  3. Digital learning and teaching: consciously didactic use of technology.
  4. Evaluate: use technology in the field of assessment.
  5. Supporting learners: strengthening weaker learners.
  6. Teaching digital competences: guiding students in acquiring digital skills as part of their citizenship.
