Get started well prepared with Getting Started

The transition from secondary to higher education involves many challenges. It is useful for your students to already get an idea of the expectations in the various courses in terms of the prior knowledge they need. That is exactly what the University of Antwerp aims to achieve.

This online preparation platform builds a bridge between secondary education and university to support students in their study choice process. You will find various digital self-study packages, consisting of self-tests, practice and learning materials, developed by the faculties. Students can complete these packages independently or as a class.

This way they get answers to questions such as:

  • Is university something for me?
  • Will I be able to handle it?
  • Do I have enough prior knowledge to start the training or do I need to brush up on something here and there?

The focus is on general competencies as well as on foreign languages, sciences and mathematics.

The platform also helps you as a teacher to:

  • to get a better idea of the prior knowledge expected in the various courses at the university.
  • gain inspiration for your own classroom practice and use the material from the self-study packages.
  • to support your students with questions and advice about their study choice and the preparations they can make for a specific course.
