Effective learning, teaching and training; what works

Cognitive psychology provides us with useful insights into how we learn. What if we take those insights to heart and translate them into how we teach and train? The science of learning is gaining importance, as are the (nuanced) arguments for evidence-informed education and publications that make educational research about what works concrete up to the classroom level (think of On the shoulders of giants and Klaskit). In all that wisdom, this question remains unanswered: which handles do these insights provide for tinkering with curricula and building courses?

In short: from learning psychological wisdom to effective teaching and training. This article makes a start. With a focus on higher education.
