Look over the wall: The reading policy at the school of kindergarten teacher Elif - Kindergarten


March 1… the start of the youth book month. Time to dive into the books and get your book pearls! By focusing strongly on storytelling, reading aloud in class and a stimulating book corner, you already lay a strong foundation for good reading. But did you know you can go much further? You lay a strong reading foundation by working on a sustainable reading policy from the first kindergarten to the sixth grade. In this blog post, we consider five building blocks of a sustainable reading policy.

A powerful and motivating reading environment at Miss Elif's school

Various reading materials are given a place at Miss Elif's kindergarten. Picture books, search books, number and type books, poetry collections, comics, newspapers, multilingual magazines, textless books ... The varied reading offer is in line with the different reading interests and cultural and linguistic background of the toddlers. In addition, there are also a lot of typeface materials in the classes. All teachers use the same pictograms as in primary school to furnish the reading cabinets and book corners.
