Free GoodFood@School trajectories for Ghent schools
A unique opportunity!
In addition to the family, school also plays a crucial role in learning about and instilling healthy, sustainable eating habits. To support schools in this, the environment and climate department of the city of Ghent is launching the GoodFood@School trajectory together with Rikolto: a unique opportunity for primary and secondary schools in Ghent to follow a 1-year trajectory for free in the 2022-2023 school year. or school year 2023-2024.
What does this mean?
Each school is tailor-made. At the start of the supervision, we map
out the initial situation of the school together and a working
group is put together in which ideally all parties involved
(teachers, management, students, parents ...) are represented. This
way we immediately work on the support for the theme within your
school. This working group determines, of course with support and
advice from Rikolto, where the priorities lie. It can be about
adapting or starting up the food offer, reducing food waste,
working on nutrition education in the classroom, involving parents
more in nutrition at school ... you name it! We then draw up a plan
to take concrete actions in this regard.
Your efforts are highlighted on a beautiful webpage on the website of GoodFood@School and the city of Ghent.
What do we expect from you?
You commit yourself with your school to make healthy and
sustainable food a theme at your school. You participate in a
number of sessions (3 to 4 live meetings) and actively participate
in achieving the objectives you set. You communicate with pride
about the actions you are taking and you participate in one moment
of exchange with other schools. And above all: you want to make
healthy, sustainable food the new normal at your school!
