Bring the documentary series Five Years Here (Canvas) to your classroom

Five Years Here is a documentary series about refugees who applied for asylum in our country in 2015 during the great European asylum crisis. Various characters have been followed for five years and tell about the reason why they fled, their journey to Belgium, their stay in asylum centers and their integration in our country.

How do your students view the stories of their peers? This series offers a balanced look at some major issues and above all, it also brings the story of young people, for young people. It provides material for fascinating lessons on asylum procedures, language acquisition, integration and history.
